The 2018 LA Auto Show

The LA Auto Show, founded in 1907, is one of the most influential auto shows globally and is the first major North American auto show. It serves as a chance for the auto industry unveil the future of mobility in the car culture. Categories range from luxury SUV’s and flagship sedans to new compact sedans. The show will see more than 50 vehicles. That is why The Hype magazine is proud to take a peak with group Managing Editor for Autotrader, Kelley Blue Book and Dealer.com.

What do you anticipate as the biggest trend in automobiles coming out of this year’s show?

The biggest trend I would go with is the technology trend automate because they pretty much solved power trains and ride handling and now they’re leaning towards technology. Every vehicle is coming out with something special and interesting. I’m standing in front of the Ford Expedition. It’s all new for 2018 as far as technology goes. It’s got a Wi-Fi hotspot that can handle 10 different users simultaneously. Now don’t think you have to spend expedition money, you can go to the other end of the spectrum and find the Hyundai Kona. That’s a compact crossover that it seats five, but it comes with standard Apple car play and android auto and a 7-inch touchscreen. So, technology I would say.

Are there any vehicles you’ve been hearing a buzz about this yea

I think the vehicle that impressed me the most this year is the Subaru ascent. It’s an older vehicle from Subaru and it listened and what their consumers have been asking for is a bigger Subaru. This is the biggest vehicle the automaker has ever introduced. It actually has three rows, seats up to eight passengers, yet still does everything a Subaru was familiar with, all-wheel drive, turbocharged engine, eight points seven inches of ground clearance and like I said, its seats eight people. It has 19 cup holders but uh don’t only get the thought or the impression that the new car is the all-new cars are here at the show. Some automakers like Kia have introduced to refresh cars like the Sorento that comes with a new front and rear fascia and new technology and new upholstery. So with the LA Auto Show this year, you have brand new debuts, you have refresh as plus, you have the vehicles that when carried over with some other new option

What do you see as the future of the American auto industry?

The automobile is going autonomous and some people may show that description especially autumn enthusiasts, but they don’t need to worry, there’s plenty of high performance stuff coming out this year. Autonomous allows the vehicle to drive itself and not to worry because five to ten years down the road, vehicles will be able to sit in traffic for you, can go ahead and text legally and they’ll also be able to drive through the rush-hour traffic and run those errands. The car pulls with the kid’

Where can we go for more information?

I would go to the Kelley Blue Book website which is kbb.com. You can read about everything we’ve been talking about. Read about all the technologies. See pictures and watch videos, great resource.
