The Hype Magazine : Who is Lady Queet?

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 27, 1986, Artist Chiquita Coleman, the daughter of Cloretta Lindsay and Reginald
Coleman, at the age of 9, started writing and reciting music, which lead to her success today. Lady Queet was born at Grady Memorial Hospital, and raised on Atlanta’s Westend. Chiquita attended Morrow High School, where she learned to play the Piano and Clarinet.

Lady Queet grew up listening to Mary J. Blige, Nas, the Goodie Mob, and Young Jeezy, whose musical styles and lyrics she would soon follow. Lady Queet is a Performer, Writer and Producer. Lady Queet wrote her first song at the age of 18, called “ Testing Me”, and performed her first song at the age of 21 at a Club known as “ Off The Bones” to start her Career.

In August of 2012, Lady Queet put out her first mixtape, “ No Make-Up”, and starred in her first video in February 2013.

As you see your self, who is Lady Queet?

Energetic positive Visionary also very talented. At the age of 9 I started instruments such as the clarinet and piano and writing R&B. Started recording vocals at 18. Lady Queet is also a great performer that cares about community especially kids. Helping and motivating others in my own special way and love to be educated.

What brought you to the entertainment industry and music specifically?

I started out playing Basketball at the age of 5 and always had the love and passion for music. Music was the way I express myself. I really do entertainment for myself not the industry, just want to be heard.

What and/or who influenced the sound you bring today?

Micheal Jackson was a great performer I was really infuenced by his uniqueness. 2PAC was great motivational poet and had a great way to bring his message. Also Mary J.Blige her voice is so soulful and I love her passion she bring and Subject matters.

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

The Reception I get from people when as I continue perform. The ability to Write, produce,and create the sound that people can feel. I also believe I can make great impact on the industry.

What was the biggest obstacle in getting to your current career phase?

My biggest obstacle is promotion, Learning, and operating of the industry. To maintain your music career and a family is major. To get the right people that cares about your career just as much as you.

What do you want people to get from your music?

Motivation to follow your dreams and to inspire other people to be the best they can be. Be to be creative

Tell us about your current project?

My Current project is call One Hell of a Day which is currently on itunes, spotify, iheart, youtube, and also your own Hype Magazine. It a song expresses a good and bad day and you we all go through this daily. Im having a hell of a day right now lol. Featuring Mr. Flamboyant telling his side of his day.

What do you feel has been your greatest life achievement so far?

I feel like I have accomplished a lot in my life. With my basketball career I got a chance to win many championships so I try to treat my music in the same manner. I am now getting heard with my music and many different places which I am proud of and the elevation its bringing

If you could collaborate with one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

I would collaborate with Micheal Jackson because of the way he made people feel with music. The ideas of his videos. Micheal Jackson was truly a Visionary and a Legend.

If you had to pick one song of yours, that really explains YOU, what would it be?

The Song I would choose to describe Lady Queet is Can’t Boost it No Moe I think it describe my drive and the way I think. The song is full of life and energy and as a person I am likewise.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…

One of my craziest moments is I was at a club and this unknown guy told me I had something in my eye. So before I knew it he reaches to get it out and naturally I blinked then he kiss right in the mouth and I just left.
