A Look At Geraldo Rivera’s Celebrity-Filled Book Launch Party At Del Frisco’s In New York

Iconic broadcaster Geraldo Rivera — winner of a Peabody Award in 1972 — is not just an accomplished journalist, talk show host and television personality. He has written eight books, and the latest one is The Geraldo Show: A Memoir, which was released today. Published by BenBella Books, Rivera celebrated The Geraldo Show with a book launch party hosted by fellow broadcast journalist Sean Hannity at the popular New York City steakhouse Del Frisco’s Restaurant on Monday, April 2nd.

Hannity, Rivera and wife Erica aside, notable attendees of the book release party included comedian Gilbert Gottfried, Fox & Friends hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade, Fox 5’s Rosanna Scotto, rock promoter Ron Delsener, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News anchors Bill Hemmer, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Kennedy, comedian Joe Piscopo, General John F. Campbell, Liz Claman, NFL great Tiki Barber, Bo Dietl, Curtis Silwa, WPIX newscaster Tamsen Fadal, Professor Alan Dershowitz, cosmetics czar John Demsey, style maven Alina Cho, and philanthropists John and Margo Catsimatidis.

In his introduction to the event, Hannity thanked everyone for coming and described Rivera as “the older brother I never had.” Hannity also referred to Rivera as well as “a true patriot who took a tremendous pay cut,” referencing Rivera’s departure from CNBC after 9/11 to go to Afghanistan as a war correspondent for Fox News. Hannity added: “Nobody got closer to the action than Geraldo did. I remember talking with him night after night from Tora Bora and the other battlefields. Now he’s written a terrific book, The Geraldo Show, that I hope you all read.”

The Geraldo Show: A Memoir is a heartfelt, eye-opening autobiography of Geraldo’s extraordinary life and times, recounts his action-packed 48 years in the news business. More on Rivera and his current projects can be found online at www.geraldo.com. Photos below are courtesy of Patrick McMullan.
