Pop Star Wengie Has A Clear Message to Not Be All “Talk Talk” in Colorful New Song and Music Video

Raise your hand if you ever dealt with a guy who was all talk? Don’t want your time wasted with stupid lies? You’re not the only one because YouTube sensation turned music artist Wengie is not about that with her brand new K-Pop single “Talk Talk” featuring pop songwriter David Amber. The single is a catchy summer bop that can be described as blend of TWICE and Ariana Grande with some playful beats! This song and music video will inspire you to move on from someone who is all “talk” because no one has time for that.

David is known as an increasing influence in Asian pop music, specifically in the worldwide phenomenon known as Korean pop music. His songwriting, composing and commercial producing skills have contributed to creating #1 hits on global charts with award-winning K-Pop, J-Pop and C-Pop music acts such as TWICE, AOA, GFriend, EXO-CBX, SF9, NCT and more. In March 2019, two albums with David’s production contributions were the #1 and #2 most sold albums on the Oricon Charts in Japan at the same time, with TWICE’s “TWICE2” album and SF9’s “Illuminate” album.

The music video will be released in English with the single release package will be in English and instrumental.

Wengie: “Before I even met David I was a huge fan of his work without even knowing it. His #1 Korean hit Yes or Yes was on repeat in my playlist for months so when I finally got to work with him it was like a dream come true. He was also super humble despite his success and recording with him was so easy. I could really tell he was meticulous with his work while recording with him which explains why he is where he is.”

David Amber: “It was such an awesome experience working with Wengie. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when we got in the studio together, but she came in super-enthusiastic and totally prepared. You’d be surprised how rare that is. On top of that, she really took the song and made it her own from what it was originally conceived as. She made great changes that really made it work for her as an artist. The track itself is super upbeat, like many of my k-pop tracks.”

Besides the star-studded lead, the song also has some super star partners, David Amber was introduced to Wengie by Danny Lee (ASIAN AGENT), who has also worked with regular Wengie collaborators Michel “Lindgren” Schulz and Melanie Joy Fontana who co-wrote BTS’s #1 worldwide hit “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey that broke records for most viewed music video in 24 hours plus other acts such as BigHit’s new group TXT. Among the behind-the-scenes work, the director for the music video is Max Fu. The stunning artwork is created by Matt Lee and the choreography is helmed by Airon Jazz Rances.

Creating a channel back in 2010, Wengie has amassed a loyal YouTube following of over 18 million subscribers across her channels, over 25 million combined followers among all social channels and over 1.4 billion views total on YouTube. Since then, she has released 7 singles & music videos, each of which have seen huge success and will release new music this summer.

Wengie has leveraged her prominence on YouTube to tackle other creative realms—she recorded her first music album in China in 2017 and is the voice of the fourth “Powerpuff Girl” on the Cartoon Network. Wengie’s music releases have skyrocketed to the top of the charts with her single ‘Oh I Do’ hitting #5 on the Honggebang charts in China. Her song “Deja Vu,” which premiered September 2018 has garnered over 6.8 million views and “Cake,” which premiered August 2018 has garnered over 9.3 million views on YouTube. Most recently, Wengie dropped her “Ugly Christmas Sweater” song, which hit the #1 spot on YouTube’s trending list and garnered nearly two million views in its first day, and 8 million to date (May 2019). Wengie aims to bring positivity and fun to music, and she does just that with her music. Wengie has always loved pop music and R&B. For the majority of her life, she has had multicultural musical taste, listening to mainly J-Pop, C-Pop, and K-Pop. She would learn lyrics to the songs having no idea what she was singing but still would be able to sing it by just memorizing it. Wengie’s main goal in music is to create fun music that is “East meets West” / K-Pop-fused-with-American-pop, which is essentially all the things she loves. Her musical influences include BLACKPINK, TWICE, ITZY, Hyuna, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. Wengie is managed by RARE Global, music by Asian Agent, and her agency is UTA.
