Xo Mo Releases Ambitious Single: Bad Habit

Xo Mo consists of Xona (vocals) and Elliott Mo (production), both are childhood friends who formed Xo Mo with the aim to create their own unique sound whilst channeling their inspirations, emotions and experiences into the world in the best way they know how – music.

Based in Ireland the duo draw upon a wide range of artistic influences to deliver vocally serene moments over ambitious yet tight production crafted in the form of contemporary pop. Xona was formally educated in Jazz, live performance and songwriting and crafted his early sound in church choir groups before venturing into the music industry. Elliott who self-taught production and music theory, briefly found himself under the tutelage of Grammy Award Winning producer Mike Dean ( Kanye West, Jay-Z, Madonna etc).

Xo Mo have been found on Spotify Editorials such as New Pop Revolution, A Breath of Fresh Éire and A New Éire as well as NMF. Pulling together a wide range of influences such as Kanye West to Christina Aguileria, Xo Mo consciously and sonically channel both the emotions of the naughties with anecdotes of modern romance and living.

GoldenPlec described Elliott’s production style as Taking on a darker hue and taking its cue from the like of Depeche Mode circa ‘Ultra’, approaching RnB and Pop from a Noir angle not normally associated with the contemporary Irish field.

Their latest offering Bad Habit comes as an energetic yet fierce experimental pop tune, speaking on the release Xo Mo said:

Bad Habit is a description of control and unrequited feelings in a modern love exchange. Detailing the lust and desire in the chase as well as the self-reflective awareness in what can be an anxious seeking of something you know is not fully yours, and perhaps never will be.
