Supa Bwe Releases “ANIMAL”

Supa Bwe just dropped “ANIMAL,” a new track from his upcoming project, JAGUAR, that’s set to release October 4th. The melodic, guitar-driven track showcases Supa’s dynamic range and contrasts the wild energy of Supa’s previous release “LOOK.” Last month, Supa dropped “LOOK” ft. Qari along with a Cole Bennett-directed video that is about to pass 700K views.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the new project, Supa Bwe shared, “as a black American male, I’m seen as a literal super predator. A threat that deserves neither empathy or compassion. Proper justice or a fair shake… The “grind” never ends when you’re “hunting” success, while avoiding detection from those hunting you. Life is a series of moments, and the good ones are earned. I’ll dwell in my jungle, grinding until my teeth fall out, because I’m a fuckin Jaguar and that’s what Jaguars do. We eat.”

Supa Bwe has already been having a breakout year since releasing his last project, Just Say Thank You, in April. With a long list of support from platforms including Pitchfork, SPIN, Complex, The Fader, Stereogum and more, the project solidified several critics’ premonition of Supa Bwe — that he is “a once in a lifetime talent and one of the best to come out of Chicago in the past decade, and arguably of all time.” (Lyrical Lemonade) As detailed in Rolling Stone’s review of Just Say Thank You, “the 29-year-old Chicago rapper has championed a combustible blend of hip hop, pop-punk, and R&B and helped carve out what would become a fertile, crowded lane occupied by younger stars like Lil Uzi Vert, XXXTENTACION, Trippie Redd, and YNW Melly. And yet, Supa Bwe is still constantly producing personal stylistic flourishes that no other artist could possibly replicate.” Just Say Thank You features standout tracks like “I Hate You” and nostalgic ode to summer, “Rememory,” featuring Chance The Rapper. The animated video for “Rememory” is quickly approaching 700K views since dropping in August. Recently, Supa Bwe has gotten an overwhelming response when performing his new music live during sets at Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash and at his recent sold-out headlining show at Reggies Rock Club in Chicago. Supa Bwe recently announced another headlining Chicago show which will take place at Avondale Music Hall on September 6th. The show is free but RSVP’s reached capacity almost instantly and very limited VIP tickets remain at https://www.supabwe.com/
