Che’Nelle On Her New Single “Hand It Over,” Future Plans, Non-Musical Hobbies & More

Che’Nelle is a notable multi-platinum-selling artist who has taken home “Album Of The Year” and “Artist Of The Year” honors in Japan. A Malaysian artist ho grew up in Australia, Che’Nelle is a true unique blend of both cultural background and artistry, and has a unique sound that incorporates traditional pop sounds with elements of soul, R&B and rock. She has released around 10 albums in Asia, has charted in the U.S. and even opened up for Kanye West’s tour on his Australia leg.

On top of all of her musical talent, Che’Nelle has written for many different artists and projects. She wrote for Leona Lewis, and has song placements in TV shows and films like FOX’s Empire — where Rumer Willis sang her song “Never Been This Hard” — and the TBS TV show Reverse. Che’Nelle has also landed product campaigns, such as Coca-Cola and Nivea, and graced mainstream magazine covers.

Che’Nelle’s latest single is “Hand It Over.” It was produced by Grammy Award-winning group The Stereotypes and was written by Che’Nelle with her writing partner. I had the pleasure of speaking with her about “Hand It Over” and more within our December 2019 phone chat, as embedded below.
