Who Is Mochoppo?!
Mochoppo is a new find for us but he’s buzzing through the streets of Miami right now and making a nice path for himself within the industry. Hailing from Russia Mochoppo spent his formative years in New York and Miami from which he’s now based and kicking up much dust with his larger than life type of music. The combination of the three major locales in his life helped him develop a love for music at a young age and has helped him emerge from the underground as one to watch.
According to Mochoppo, his first time rapping came when his homie in lil Haiti was struggling with a melody and asked Mo to record, it ended up sounding great and that changed the course of his life forever. Growing up listening to artists like 50 Cent and Lil Wayne, Mochoppo quickly gained a liking for their ”larger than life” feeling and knew he wanted to be more than just a rapper, he wanted to be a superstar.
Surrounded by hard times and inner-city life, Mochoppo’s life was riddled with violence, drugs, and crime and he began using music as a means to escape the harsher realities of life.
His debut single “Choppo” showed Mo in an orange facemask and orange M4 taking over the streets of LA boasting his Miami pride and having a great time, however, on the striking visuals for his new joint “Disrespectful” we see a more sinister and darker side of life, as he performs in an abandoned house metaphorically on fire while some of Miami’s famous night lights cut in and out.
Rolling off these two releases, Mochoppo has been gaining traction in South Florida and is surely a frontrunner for the next Miami superstar!
