Interviews

LP On Her August 1, 2020 Livestream, Her Next Album, Her New York Roots & Much More

Singer and songwriter LP first rose to international fame with 2017’s Lost On You. The album’s hit title track — which reached the No. 1 chart spot in 18 countries and has surpassed over 1 billion streams (and counting) — was certified Diamond in Mexico and France, 4x Platinum in Italy, Platinum in Greece and Poland, and Gold in Belgium and Switzerland. However, LP is far from an overnight success, scoring her first major label record deal over 15 years before “Lost On You” struck a chord.

LP — who recently signed with Dine Alone Records, which just released her new single “The One That You Love” — has also found global success as a songwriter for other artists. In turn, her discography also includes plenty of icons, including Cher (“Red,” “Pride”), Rihanna (“Cheers, Drink To That”), The Backstreet Boys (“Love Will Keep You Up All Night”), Leona Lewis (“Fingerprint”), Céline Dion (“Change My Mind”), Cher Lloyd (“Human”), Rita Ora (“Shine Ya Light”) and Christina Aguilera (“Beautiful People”).

As LP’s worldwide 2020 headline tour was postponed due to COVID-19, she will be holding a global livestream concert this Saturday, August 1st. The multi-camera, HD video, 80-audio-channel, special concert event is expected to be LP’s only full-production concert in 2020, and it will feature LP and her band performing a set of hits, fan favorites, covers and brand-new music, including the aforementioned “The One That You Love”; her new single already has more than 1 million streams.

I had the pleasure — and I do say “pleasure” — of interviewing LP via Zoom on July 28, 2020, as embedded below. More on all things LP can be found online by visiting www.iamlp.com, www.twitter.com/iamlp, www.instagram.com/iamlpofficial and/or www.facebook.com/iamLP.
