R&B Singer/Songwriter ROE Delivers Debut Single “I Like”

Rising R&B singer and songwriter ROE takes us back to the 90s with her debut single “I Like”, a dazzling flip of Billboard #1 hit “I Like The Way (Kissing Game)” by Hi-Five. The singer’s dreamy yet vibrant interpolation encapsulates a lustful romance between two lovers on the same wavelength; the perfect distraction in times of stress.

“We need to flirt and love more than ever now,” says ROE.

The single’s modern production and sweet synths provide a refreshing groove that brings a playful touch of soul back into modern R&B. The songstress describes her inspiration for the song as a gift out of thin air:

“”Kissing Game” found me in the studio that night. I hadn’t heard it in years prior to the night I wrote this song,” she says. “That’s the power and magic of timeless music, I guess. It floats around forever to live over and over again.”

Born and raised in Venice, California, ROE is a multi-talented artist and songwriter for Universal Music Publishing Group. The songstress boasts rich, mellifluous vocals and after years of working as a songwriter behind the scenes, she is ready to break out and step into her truest form. Her new music sees her blending rich, magnetic melodies reminiscent of classic R&B and the likes of Mariah Carey with bright, modern production that fits just right for the LA-native. Her debut EP as a solo artist is set to come Fall 2020.

ROE has written for top artists such as Mary J. Blige, Usher, Normani, Kiana Ledé, Teyana Taylor, Kash Doll, and for hit TV shows like Empire and Star. She has also lent her talents in collaborations with artists such as Sachi, The Him, and most recently dance legend Tiësto, with even more big features to come. Furthermore, her collaboration with Sachi, “Sparking My Fire”, was recently featured in NBC’s hit reality TV competition show World Of Dance. She will also be performing in ASCAP’s 2020 Summer Showcase Series.
