0Ace Frehley On His New Album “Origins Vol. 2,” Moving Back East, Life During COVID-19 & More
As the original lead guitarist of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame artist KISS, Ace Frehley has proven to be one of rock’s most influential guitarists. After all, among the high-profile guitarists that have cited Frehley as a major influence have been members of Weezer, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Pantera, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains. Also of note is that Frehley has also managed to have the most successful solo career of any KISS member, past or present; pre-COVID-19, his cover of “Back In The New York Groove” was the song played at Citi Field when the New York Mets won a game.
The latest studio effort from Ace Frehley is 2020’s Origins Vol. 2. To be released by Entertainment One Music on Friday, September 18th, Origins Vol. 2 is the latest collection of cover songs recorded by Ace Frehley. Origins Vol 2. features some extraordinary guests, including Robin Zander of Cheap Trick on Humble Pie’s “30 Days In The Hole,” former KISS comrade Bruce Kulick on Jimi Hendrix’s “Manic Depression,” Lita Ford contributes vocals to Frehley’s take on The Rolling Stones’ “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and Origins Vol. 1 alumnus John 5 on Cream’s “Politician” and The Beatles’ “I’m Down.”
Recently extending his original deal signed with eOne in 2013, Ace Frehley has already released 3 albums worth of new material with Origins Vol. 2 being his 4th title for this label. A new studio album is planned for 2021 with 2 additional releases anticipated to follow for Frehley via eOne.
