Zach Zoya On His Upcoming “Spectrum” EP Via Universal Music, His “Slurpee” Video & More

Earlier this month Montréal rapper/singer Zach Zoya continued his steady release of melodic rap and gripping visuals by dropping his new single and video “In Da Way.” Produced by DRTWRK (Kanye West, Lil Wayne), “In Da Way” is a low-key banger laced with confidence as Zoya flows effortlessly between intricate rap bars and smooth R&B tones. After first collaborating on the eye-popping music video for “Slurpee” — which quickly racked up over 100,000 views — Zoya has again partnered with Montréal director Le GED for the official “In Da Way” video. From a woozy, out-of-body perspective, Le GED visualizes the dizzying blur of Zoya’s artistic and personal worlds battling against and blending into each other. In other words, Zoya’s music videos add plenty to the studio recordings.

“In Da Way” is the third official single and second music video from Zach Zoya’s upcoming EP Spectrum, which will be released on October 30th via 7ièmeCiel/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Anticipation for Zoya’s major label debut EP has been building throughout the year with the releases of “Le Cap” — which already boasts over half a million streams and have earned prominent features within the national broadcasts of Games 3 and 5 of the NBA Playoff Series between the Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics and in the e-sports team Toronto Ultra’s Home Series Weekend for the Call Of Duty League — and “Slurpee.” Zoya has also received praise and support throughout the year from esteemed media such as Dummy Magazine, Complex, iHeartRadio, HotNewHipHop, HipHopDX, and the Travis Mills Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music, also recently landed the cover of Spotify’s Northern Bars playlist. And that’s without his major label debut EP even released.
