Eves Karydas On Her Latest Single “Complicated,” Triple J Radio’s Support, Future Plans & More

In 2018, Brisbane, Australia-based singer-songwriter Eves Karydas released her debut album, summerskin. That full-length featured a string of impressive singles, including the Gold-selling “Further Than The Planes Fly” as well as “Couch,” “Damn Loyal” and the ethereal “Wildest Ones.” Karydas ultimately collected 40 million streams and support from key tastemakers, also scoring support slots with Dua Lipa and George Ezra and playing big festivals, including Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass. But Karydas’ latest single, “Complicated,” is poised to be her true international break-out.

Written as part of an extended writing trip around the world in 2019, “Complicated” was penned during a writing session that was never meant to happen. Eves Karydas worked alongside co-writers Calle Lehmann (Liam Payne, Rita Ora) and Max Thulin (Molly Sandén), and producer Magnus Lidehäll (Katy Perry, Galantis) in Stockholm, Sweden. “Complicated” is essentially Karydas emerging into her own, tapping deeper into herself than ever before and launching into an exciting new era. Even after just one listen, you probably will not forget its very-memorable hook anytime soon.
