As we search for a song to stream, it is directly dependent on the mood we are in at that time. Whether we are sad, angry, nostalgic, or feeling sexy, there are specific tracks we turn to in hopes of either magnifying our emotions or numbing them. The most frequent goal when listening to music is to enhance a positive feeling, negating and suppressing any adverse emotions we may be experiencing at the time. As I have spoken to many female artists and listened to their content, it has become apparent that they have become comfortable speaking their minds and portraying their sexy and seductive side to their audiences. Musical Kay, also known as Kay Kay has succeeded in enticing her audience with her new song and music video “Affection”.
With the song beginning with the sound of a beautiful guitar and a visual of Kay Kay sitting on her bed in a sexy and classy manner, the viewer and listener are immediately drawn in. The soft tone of her voice combined with her relatable lyrics, has the viewer intrigued from the beginning to the end.
“You know I want you. Tell me what you wanna do. I’m trying to get next to you. You know you need affection too…Affection, is what I want. Don’t be flexing. You can’t front. You can’t front on all these vibes.”
This is a song and video I can envision playing in the background as a woman gets ready for an intimate night with that special someone. Flawlessly implemented, this single has an increasing buzz in which has caused Kay’s audience to apprehensively await her upcoming EP.
