Steve Treviño On His New Special “My Life In Quarantine” & Podcasting With His Wife Renae
One of the country’s fastest-rising comics, Steve Treviño has been viewed online over 175 million times as of 2020. In turn, it ought to come as no surprise that he has been selling out shows coast-to-coast, amassing nearly 1 million total social media followers, and headlining specials for Amazon, NETFLIX and Showtime. The Mexican-American comic billed as “America’s Favorite Husband” — in the everyman style of Ray Romano and Kevin James — was regularly on the road pre-COVID-19, performing over 250 shows each year. Treviño is now ready to take to the highway again, with 23 shows announced before the end of this year, with more live appearances to be announced.
Touring aside, Steve Treviño has a new comedy special, My Life In Quarantine. Available to rent for $20 through Veteran’s Day 2020, a portion of the special’s proceeds will be donated to benefit veterans. The new special was shot on September 12, 2020, outdoors, in front of a live, masked and socially-distanced crowd at world-class production facility Studios at Fischer, in Canyon Lake, Texas, following strict COVID-19 protocols. With that special, Treviño takes on the brutal reality of realizing he is nonessential. Meanwhile, Treviño podcast, as launched while in quarantine with his wife Renae — whom he lovingly refers to as “Captain Evil” — now has over 1 million views/streams.
On November 10, 2020, I had the pleasure of interviewing Steve Treviño via Zoom, as embedded below. More on the comedian, the My Life In Quarantine special, his podcast and his charitable endeavors can be found online via www.stevetrevino.com and www.facebook.com/StTrevino.
