Who is Oh Boy Prince?

Oh Boy Prince is no stranger to the spotlight, but this time it is solely focused on him. After gaining worldwide recognition as a member of the GS Boyz with their Billboard hit “Stanky Legg”, Prince shows he can still create a wave.

His newest single “Round Rock” has gained over 40 million plays on TikTok including over 17.9 million with the “One Leg Challenge” and over 200K views on YouTube.

Joined by Dallas, TX native Unique Musick the pair created something memorable that’s recognized by the first few words…” ONE LEG IN-ONE LEG OUT.”

The single has taken social media by storm with countless TikTok and Instagram reels created by some of the most well-known influencers, celebrities, and athletes. Even more important than the notable stamps are the posts from the incredible fans that have supported Prince and represent the fun and diversity in his music.

While sticking to the formula of promoting fun and inclusion through music, Prince knows what works for him and his fans; it’s just this time he’s prepared to do it his way.

Hype: Where are you from and how’d you first discover hip-hop?

Oh Boy Prince: I’m from Brooklyn, New York. I started off listening to 50 Cent, Diddy, Jay-Z and Souja Boy they were my inspiration.

Hype: This last decade couldn’t prepare us for what 2020 has brought this year. What’s the storyline been like for you?

Oh Boy Prince: 2020 was a blessing for me. I had nothing but time to work on several projects. I started using Tiktok as my main platform. I know the type of music I make is good in spaces where people can be interactive with it.

Hype: Who are your musical influences?

Oh Boy Prince: 50 Cent, Diddy, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne were my musical influences. Also Soulja Boy and his ability to create so much engagement with his music and also capitalize from platforms that reach the masses is something I really pay attention to.

Oh Boy Prince: My Own Sound. My fans loves the fact that my music is different from everyone else.

Hype: What’s it like being able to navigate your success after placing the billboard charts in your earlier career?

Oh Boy Prince: Previous success has helped out a lot, but I’m creating my own brand as Oh Boy Prince not the GS Boyz. It’s almost like starting over but it’s not because Oh Boy Prince has been a house hold name and will remain a house hold name.

Oh Boy Prince: A party type lit energy. When I step in the building, I want people to know me as the party goat.

Oh Boy Prince: Tiktok is the new YouTube , but it’s much easier. So many people are using the app music can spread faster all around the world. We can see people gravitate to our music instantly. It’s not a post and wait to see what happens type of thing like with other platforms. You put it up and let the fans have it, if the influencers love it then it can spread like wild fire.

Hype: When is the GS Boyz reunion and can we expect new music?

Oh Boy Prince: As of now they know it’s all love we’re family. I’m not sure when there will be a reunion. Everyone has to be on the same page first. We put out a single called “Draws Off” in 2019 so make sure to go check it out in the meantime.
