Carmen Jackson Asks ‘Where Do We Go From Here’

Mesmerizing and dreamy, Carmen Jackson’s voice brings new single “Where Do We Go From Here” to life. The Detroit native is an established presence in the local jazz community and her Alto Mezzo, Second Soprano sounds will remind you of greats like Nancy Wilson and Nina Simone. Jan. 22 marked the date for the release of her single and video “Where Do We Go From Here.”

“Where Do We Go From Here” speaks to the opportunities provided by uncertainty in love and in life and that truth is paramount. Sultry, yet passionate, this Winter hit is likely to keep you and your lover warm this holiday season. Carmen Jackson has been supported in her music career starting with her father, percussionist Manley Jackson Jr., and two uncles whose passions for Jazz continue to leave impressions on the genre for generations. Her uncle Milt Jackson, notably the creator of the Modern Jazz Quartet, gave Carmen his blessing and support to share her voice with the world.

“I wrote this song, because I was in love at the time and was in 7 years too deep, so I needed to know ‘Where Do We Go From Here’ and not waste any more time, because it’s so precious!”

Carmen Jackson has performed at the World Famous Baker’s Keyboard Lounge, Bert’s Marketplace, International Jazz Festival and other notable establishments. Carmen has also appeared in the film Sparkle, a documentary, and a Grammy-award winning video. Where Do We Go From Here was originally released in May 2018 and will be featured on Carmen Jackson’s upcoming album Resilience which is slated for release at the end of 2021.
