Ronnie Watts x Jorlov “Wake Up”

Wake Up is an important song to us because it’s about getting through dark times. When you wake up in the middle of the night, the world feels frozen and it feels like you’re the only one awake. You have to have something to get you through when life gets tough, whether it’s friends, family, or music. I hope people will hear this song and feel like they have two new friends to lean on.

Doing this collaboration was so fun! Being a solo artist, I always really appreciate working with other people. It was really cool combining our aesthetics. Joe and his music are a bit wilder and edgy than me. Combining that with my soft, grunge side left us with a really fun vibe.

Wake Up came about a bit by chance. We had been working in the studio all week. We had recorded a couple songs, but nothing was really hitting. Joe clicked on a random file just as we were wrapping up, and that ended up being the skeleton production of Wake Up. The writing and recording process flowed really naturally and now we have a song we both love. It’s crazy that none of this would be happening if he hadn’t clicked on that random file.
