NFT 3D artist Andre Oshea has been commissioned to create a special edition artwork of 1 in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman who tragically died of colon cancer less than a year ago in 2020. Oshea’s NFT artwork will be part of an “Everyone Wins” Nominee Gift Gag, given to Oscar® nominees this Sunday 25th April. Andre Oshea’s commemorative NFT artwork coincides with Boseman’s Lead Actor Oscar® nomination for the widely praised “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”, and the work will be auctioned on the NFT platform Rarible from Sunday 25th April – Tuesday 27th April 2021. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Colon Cancer Foundation to support their invaluable work. Through a partnership with AdVenture Media Group, Metaversal and Rarible, the first-ever NFT offering will be unveiled to the public at the auction.

Andre Oshea is a 28-year-old 3D generalist and animator, who explores themes of futurism and surrealism in his work, with a recurring futuristic figure of a Black woman, and suspended objects encased in his rendered new worlds. Uncovering new dimensions of possibilities through his immersive world-building artworks, Oshea allows us to reimagine new opportunities instead of impossibilities. Oshea said “NFTs have really changed my creative process. Now I focus less on making clients happy and entirely on my own creative visions and explorations. I also take immense pride in being a Black man and NFTs allow me to bring that into my artwork in really cool ways.” Oshea’s artwork of late Chadwick Boseman is a celebration of Black creativity in cinema and art, and a salute to Boseman’s undeniable cross-generational influence as the first superhero of African descent Black Panther. The new artwork is created to honour his legacy as a boundary-breaking actor whose inimitable talent will continue to inspire future generations of Black creatives like Oshea. Oshea is represented by Black NFT Art, an NFT creative agency founded by Iris Nevins and Omar Desire. Black NFT Art empowers Black artists in the NFT space, and offers a sense of community and support. This April, Oshea has also partnered with Netflix and the Grammy winning producer Illmind, to produce special edition NFT drops.

“This rare special edition NFT is the very first offered as a tribute to the prolific actor, a unique piece of art which is limited to just 1 edition and will never be minted again,” said Isaac Rudansky, founder of AdVenture Media. “This NFT commemorates Chadwick’s incredible legacy while supporting the nationwide initiative to bring 10,000 colorectal screenings to underserved communities in 2021 through CCF.”
