Bellator’s Janay Harding On “Bellator 259,” Music She Trains To & What Got Her Into MMA

Bellator is a leading global MMA and kickboxing promotion featuring many of the best athletes in the world. Under the direction of veteran fight promoter Scott Coker, Bellator events take place in major cities around the world and can be seen on television in over 160 countries to an available audience of over 1 billion people. In the States, Bellator events from all over the world can be seen on Showtime — a new TV deal announced earlier this year — and online via Pluto TV and Bellator’s YouTube channel.

Bellator 259 will be taking place at Mohegan Sun on May 21, 2021, as headlined by the long-anticipated “Cyborg vs. Smith 2,” featuring Cris Cyborg and Leslie Smith who had originally met at UFC 198. Also fighting on this 14-match card will be Janay Harding — who made her MMA debut in 2014 — in a flyweight bout against Leah McCourt. I had the pleasure of asking questions to Harding as part of a Bellator 259 media preview event on May 19, 2021, as recorded via Zoom and embedded below.
