IMPACT Wrestling Star Chris Sabin On His Long-Term In-Ring Career, “Slammiversary,” His Band “The High Crusade,” Gaming & More

IMPACT Wrestling has started off 2021 strong, recently making headlines with this month’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. IMPACT’s next big televised event will be Slammiversary on July 17, 2021, as airing via the IMPACT Plus! network. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.

One of the IMPACT stars who has people talking is Chris Sabin. Sabin made his in-ring debut in the early 2000s, winning his first championship with TNA Wrestling — the precursor to IMPACT Wrestling — in 2003, just months after debuting with the company. He has since found success as both a singles and tag team competitor, winning titles all over the world and wrestling plenty of future world champions. Ultimately he is an 8-time X Division Champion and had a 97-day reign as an IMPACT World Tag Team Champion last year alongside Alex Shelley as The Motor City Machine Guns. At the aforementioned Slammiversary, Sabin will be facing former World Heavyweight Champion Moose.

On June 22, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Chris Sabin again via Zoom, as embedded below; we previously spoke last year as part of an IMPACT-presented conference call. Besides his career with IMPACT, Sabin also talked music — he has recorded 2 albums with the band The High Crusade, which also includes Shelley and IMPACT wrestler Petey Williams — and video games. More on Sabin, The High Crusade and/or IMPACT Wrestling can be found by clicking here, here, here and here.
