Sought After NY DJ: DJ Danny Dee Shares His Story and Upcoming Projects

DJ Danny Dee, a Harlem, New York native, found his passion for the turntables early in life while attending parties with his father. His dad, who was a Calypso DJ, is his biggest inspiration. Watching his father use older equipment, assisted DJ Danny Dee in perfecting his craft. While working at a party, a friend titled him, “The Harlem Showstopper”. From that point on, he utilized that as part of his stage name. DJ Danny Dee recalls a turning point in his career, “One summer there was a block party in my neighborhood and the DJ let me get on the turntables. I was mixing and scratching like I’d never done before and the crowd was going wild! The reaction I received from the crowd and respect from the community, in that moment, pushed me to do this even more.”
As his career progressed, DJ Danny Dee accomplished many goals. He had opportunities to co-produce one of the biggest his of 2006, “Chicken Noodle Soup” and be Alicia Keys’ DJ. Another climactic moment in his profession was becoming part of “Da Union DJs”. DJ Danny Dee’s most recent project is his blend tribute for DMX which is available on his YouTube channel and soon to be released on the Apple Podcasts app.
Many believe that a passion initially begins as a hobby. This talented DJ agrees with this statement and elaborated. “Once you start getting booked/paid, and signing contracts to do events, that’s when you have to make the decision if you want this as a hobby or career and start taking things more seriously and become professional.” DJ Danny Dee challenges himself to be better than he was on his last project or event. This is what allows him to stand apart from the rest. With his passion, impeccable work ethic, and consistency, DJ Danny Dee has made a name for himself in the music industry.
From July 29th to August 2nd, DJ Danny Dee will be in Jamaica to DJ and also celebrate his birthday. In November he will be traveling to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Tamika D Mallory’s book signing and birthday party are also on the DJ’s calendar. It is obvious that this sought after DJ has many events and projects lined up for his fans.
