Beyond the Lyrics: Foreign Glizzy is Building His Brand
Gary Williams Jr. is a California based rapper, known in the music community as Foreign Glizzy. He is a man of many talents. Through his own independent label, Foreign Family Records, he released a project last year titled “Foreign Exchange”. He also released some dope visuals for two of the project’s bangers, “Road Running” and “R.I.P. Kobe”.

He was born in San Francisco and raised in Vallejo, California, the birthplace of rap legends, Mac Dre and E-40.
“Road Running” has a sick drum beat that oozes bass and West Coast funk. In the music video, Foreign Glizzy is decked out in a foreign car – Maserati to be exact. As he raps, he flashes racks of cash and spits over a sick drill beat. He raps, “I’m just counting up, baby. Hold on. Soon as I’m done, put your clothes on.”, “Road Running” was produced by David Wesson and the music video was directed by BTCvisuals.
“R.I.P. Kobe” is another popular song. The music video has garnered over 100K views since it was released earlier this year. On the track, he criticizes artists who claim to live a life that is false from their actual reality. We get the sense that authenticity is an important trait to Foreign Glizzy. He raps, “all these rappers sayin’ that they trappin’ really dope feening.”.
Before music, Glizzy played ball, first as a Division1 athlete, and later as a professional ballplayer. Once he wrapped that up, it was full steam ahead for his music career. Additionally, he also uses the music business as a springboard to launch other entrepreneurial ventures.
In the Bay Area, you are likely to come across one of his Foreign Family Clothing stores in the mall. He owns several. He’s also using his success to inspire and motivate others. To encourage the youth in the inner city, he sponsors a backpack giveaway and also holds food drives.
