Colorado Veterans Project to Host First “Let Freedom Swing” Golf Tournament Benefit

Colorado Veterans Project (CVP) will present its first “Let Freedom Swing” Golf Tournament at Arrowhead Golf Course in Littleton, Colo., from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, with intentions to make the tournament an annual event.

The spirited golf tournament will offer an 18-hole round for serious golfers as well as those looking for a day of fun, with all proceeds directly supporting CVP. With scenic views of red sandstone and frequent sightings of abundant wildlife, Arrowhead Golf Course is one of the top photographed courses in the world.

“We’re excited to tee off our first ‘Let Freedom Swing’ Golf Tournament and hope to see a large turn-out in support of our local veterans,” said Rob Bingham, executive director of CVP. “As one of the largest veteran-related nonprofits in Colorado, we work to build a stronger, more supportive community for our veterans through raising funds and awareness and look forward to advancing our cause through many future golf tournaments.”

Registration is available now for single, double and foursome participants, which will include an 18-hole round of golf, a breakfast burrito and coffee, a fajita lunch buffet with an alcoholic or zero-proof beverage and an awards presentation. Add-ons are available, including $10 Mulligans and a 10th-hole cannon shot, using a golf ball cannon to tee off, for $20. The tournament’s VIP tent at hole 10 will offer cigars and three pours of Scotch for an additional $50 per person.

With $20, golfers will receive one entry in the giveaway of a 25-year single malt Scotch whisky from The Glenlivet, worth $500, sponsored by Discount Hail Repair. CVP is actively seeking additional sponsors for the tournament, with more information available here. Direct donations to CVP can be made here.

CVP hosts events throughout the year, including its annual Memorial Day Run and March that collects donations and nonperishable foods for local veterans who are experiencing homelessness and the Freedom 4-Miler Run that encourages patriotic attire and raises funds for local veterans and veteran organizations. CVP’s Denver Veterans Day Run, Parade and Festival, another fundraising event for local veterans and veterans organizations, serves as an appreciation event for military service members.
