IMPACT Wrestling Star Petey Williams On “Slammiversary,” His Podcast, Music, Television & More

IMPACT Wrestling has started off 2021 strong, recently making headlines with this month’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. IMPACT’s next big televised event will be Slammiversary on July 17, 2021, as airing via the IMPACT Plus! network. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.

One of the IMPACT stars who has people talking is Petey Williams. While still under the age of 40, Williams made his professional wrestling debut almost 20 years ago, and has been featured regularly on television since 2004. Within the IMPACT Wrestling ranks, Williams is a 2-time X Division Champion and the winner of 3 “Year End Awards.” Beyond winning championship gold all over the world, Williams also holds the distinction of inventing the popular wrestling move known as The Canadian Destroyer. Williams will be challenging for the X Division Championship at 2021’s Slammiversary.

Also of note about Petey Williams is that he is a musician and podcaster. Williams has played guitar and harmonica in a band called The High Crusade, which also includes IMPACT Wrestling’s Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, alongside and their friends Adam Tatro and Chris Plumb. The band’s first album was released in 2010. Williams also co-hosts the Wrestling Perspective Podcast alongside Rancid’s Lars Fredriksen, Major League Baseball players Jason Kendall and Dmitri Young, 4-time NHL Stanley Cup Champion Darren McCarty, and acclaimed sports podcaster Dennis Farrell. New episodes of the podcast premiere on Fridays at 8:00 PM EST via all the key podcast distribution outlets.

On July 8, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Petey Williams via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Williams and Slammiversary can be found by clicking here, here and/or here.
