Gail Kim On IMPACT Wrestling’s “Knockouts Knockdown,” Modern Wrestling’s “Forbidden Door,” Future Career Plans & More

IMPACT Wrestling started off 2021 strong, making headlines with last month’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. IMPACT’s next big televised event will be this month’s Knockouts Knockdown on September 17, 2021, as airing via the IMPACT Plus! network. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.

One of the IMPACT Wrestling legends helping to make Knockouts Knockdown happen is Hall Of Famer Gail Kim. Kim, who has worked backstage for IMPACT since retiring from in-ring competition, helped announce the event earlier this week. Knockouts Knockdown will feature several new Knockouts competing in the IMPACT ring, including Mercedes Martinez, and feature commentary from Mickie James and Veda Scott. Christy Hemme will have a major role in Knockouts Knockdown, which will pay tribute to Daffney, the late performer who was Knockout to participate in a Monster’s Ball Match.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Gail Kim again on September 15, 2021. Beyond Knockouts Knockdown, we talked about her transition into backstage production for IMPACT, career goals outside of wrestling, and how she feels about many of today’s wrestling companies working together these days. More on Kim, IMPACT and Knockouts Knockdown can be found by clicking here, here and here.
