Jacob Rabon IV On His New Music As “Ace Of Hearts,” Future Plans As “Alpharad,” Influences & More

Los Angeles based chemistry major-turned-viral sensation-turned-YouTuber-turned-musician Jacob Rabon IV may be best known for his YouTube empire as Alpharad, which has accumulated over 1 billion views. But to music fans, Rabon is also known for his work via the audio-visual project Ace Of Hearts. Ace Of Hearts recently released a new single “Deadbeat Boulevard,” a fun pop-rock song about watching a close friend start a relationship that you know will not turn out well. This is the first single off of Ace Of Hearts’ forthcoming full-length album, Frozen in Time, as due out on December 10, 2021.

Frozen In Time follows 2 EPs from Ace Of Hearts, Scorpion Queen and Monophobia, as both released in 2020. Collectively, these EPs went on to amass over 10 million streams. Inspired by artists such as The Black Keys, MIKA, Marina, Death Cab For Cutie, Ben Folds and Wallows, the upcoming Ace Of Hearts album is said to be a culmination of everything that has mattered to Jacob Rabon IV in the past year, as each song is a reference to a journal entry from the past year. Rabon has gone on-record about his main goal for the Frozen in Time album in making its listeners feel less alone and more connected.

On November 23, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jacob Rabon IV via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Frozen In Time, we spoke about his long-term musical influences, his future plans as a musician, and having a multi-faceted career within the content creation realm. More on Rabon, Ace Of Hearts and his various other projects can be found online by clicking here, here, here and here.
