0Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy On His Upcoming Tour Dates, Future Releases & Plans For A New Book
As a co-founder of hard rock band Ratt, Stephen Pearcy has sold many millions of records. Even during the years when Ratt was on hiatus — or the quintet had a different singer on-board — Pearcy kept busy with a variety of musical endeavors, including the Sony-signed band Arcade, a plethora of solo efforts, his record label Top Fuel Records, and creating and developing Mic Knuckles.
Last April, Stephen Pearcy presented a livestream concert from Los Angeles’ Whiskey A Go Go, as backed by his “RATT Bastards” — featuring former members of Danzig, HellYeah, Ace Frehley, L.A. Guns and Bow Wow Wow — and former Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer. Beyond another planned livestream event for February 2022, Pearcy has plans to return to the road in a few weeks. His next scheduled concert is set forDecember 1, 2021 at Jergel’s Rhythm & Grille in Warrendale, Pennsylvania.
Pearcy has also made headlines this year with his recently-released documentary Nothing To Lose: A Stephen Pearcy Rockumentary. That film is available now via ASY TV, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick and/or through ASYTV.com. From Nothing To Lose, you get Pearcy’s full story as the Ratt frontman visits his childhood home in San Diego, former Ratt residences and the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood while telling his story. He has also been working on a followup to 2018’s View To A Thrill album, and has been spotted making appearances on-stage alongside Sammy Hagar and Rob Halford.
On November 19, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Stephen Pearcy again via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Nothing To Lose: A Stephen Pearcy Rockumentary, we also spoke about the influence of Led Zeppelin and Van Halen on him as a musician, his plan for a second book, his relationships with various members of Ratt, the likelihood of another Ratt album, how playing live with his solo band compares to Ratt shows, and whether he has plans for more archival Ratt and/or solo releases. Tour dates and more info related to Pearcy and Ratt can be found here, here and here.
