World Of Wonder Co-Founder Randy Barbato On New Series “Leave It To Geege,” The Growth Of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” & More

Founded in 1991, World Of Wonder has created hit Emmy-winning TV franchises and groundbreaking documentaries. Far more than a production company, World Of Wonder brings the underground to the mainstream with uniqueness, imagination and glamour. With nearly 30 years of both unscripted and scripted content to speak of, the World Of Wonder team is world-renowned as trailblazers in Hollywood, as known to provide a voice to outsiders and marginalized communities.

Leave It To Geege is a new series from World Of Wonder — the team behind the culture-shifting Drag Race franchise — and is currently in its premiere season on Lifetime. The reality series follows a twice-divorced breast cancer survivor and Atlanta-area single mother Geege Taylor, who has dedicated her life to advocating for those on the spectrum. It explores the importance of educating and helping others navigate their way through the challenges and rewards of raising a child with autism, following her first-hand experience with her non-verbal 19-year-old son Pootie alongside friends and family.

On February 14, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with World Of Wonder co-founder Randy Barbato via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Leave It To Geege — which currently airs via mylifetime.com, the Lifetime app and VOD and started releasing new episodes every Thursday as of last week — we spoke about the past, present and future of World Of Wonder. Additional info on Barbato, World Of Wonder and Leave It To Geege can be found online by clicking here, here and here.
