Ludacris Set For Special Performance at LIGHT Nightclub in Las Vegas

LIGHT Nightclub, located at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, will close out the month and the first professional football draft weekend in Las Vegas with a performance by the legendary award-winning rapper Ludacris Saturday, April 30 as part of the venue’s jaw-dropping lineup of top artists.

Ludacris is the award-winning American rapper and actor known for smash hits like “Rollout (My Business),” “What’s Your Fantasy,” “Get Back,” and “Move B*tch.” Ludacris has won three GRAMMY Awards including 2005’s “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” for “Yeah!” with Usher and Lil John, 2007’s “Best Rap Song” for his hit song “Money Maker” featuring Pharrell, and “Best Rap Album” for his album titled “Release Therapy” as well as 17 additional nominations. Winning the 2005 MTV Video Music Award for “Best Rap Video” plus nine BET Awards between 2002 and 2008, including three “Best Collaboration” awards, two “Video of the Year” awards, two “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist” awards and a “Viewer’s Choice,” the superstar artist popularized the “Dirty South” style of rap. His collaboration with Carrie Underwood on the track “The Champion” also received the CMT Music Award for Female Video of the Year as well as two additional award nominations.

Ludacris formed his own recording label “Disturbing the Peace” in the late 1990s, later becoming a part of Def Jam Recordings through which, he released eight studio albums. All eight records broke into the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 charts with four of them reaching number one. Five of the albums also achieved certified multi-platinum status, one earning platinum and two more achieving gold. Twenty-seven singles by Ludacris have broken into the Billboard Hot 100 including “Stand Up” featuring Shawnna and “Money Maker” featuring Pharrell topping the list at number 1. As the lead artist, Ludacris has received one multi-platinum, five single platinum, and three gold certifications for his singles. His work as a featured artist has earned six multi-platinum, seven single platinum, and five gold certifications. As a collaborating artist on Justin Beiber’s hit single, “Baby,” Ludacris earned certified diamond status.

Ludacris is also known for his various roles in both film and television. His most popular role is Tej Parker in the “Fast and Furious” film series making his first appearance in the franchise’s first sequel in 2003. Other noteworthy roles include “Crash,” “Gamer,” “American Hustle” and “New Year’s Eve.” In 2005, he was presented the award for “Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture” for his performance in “Crash” by the Screen Actors Guild. His acting career also includes a recurring character on “Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit,” a guest appearance on “Empire” and a voice role as himself on three Def Jam video games.

Since 2013, LIGHT has provided guests with a world-class experience combining a state-of-the-art sound system with massive LED screens. Reopening its doors in February with performances by Wyclef Jean, Sam Hunt and Iggy Azalea, LIGHT will continue the star-studded lineup in April with Masego, Miguel, and DJ Pope among other talent to be announced.
