0Aldo Nova On The New EP “The Life & Times Of Eddie Gage,” Working With Celine Dion, Jon Bon Jovi, Future Career Plans & More
Born Aldo Caporuscio, Aldo Nova first made an impact internationally 40 years ago with his self-titled debut, which sold double platinum and yielded the Hot 100 single “Fantasy.” On the heels of the gold-selling Subject…Aldo Nova and Twitch, Nova emerged as a trusted collaborator for some of the biggest stars in the world. He co-wrote the signature riff from Jon Bon Jovi’s “Blaze Of Glory,” while Bon Jovi returned the favor by collaborating on Nova’s 1991 release Blood On The Bricks. Working closely with Céline Dion, he penned “Your Light,” “I Can’t Fight The Feeling,” and “You And I,” also garnering a GRAMMY Award in the category of “Album Of The Year” for co-writing and producing “Dreamin’ Of You” from her diamond-selling debut Falling Into You. Nova’s songs have also been performed by the likes of Faith Hill, Carole King, Clay Aiken, La Ley, Garou, Saints & Sinners, Chenoa and Blue Öyster Cult.
The latest release from the Montreal musical icon is The Life & Times Of Eddie Gage. Written, arranged, engineered and mixed entirely by Aldo Nova, this recording merges exceptional musicality and vivid storytelling as the rock opera tells the story of Eddie Gage. Per Nova in a prepared statement: “I feel really comfortable in my own skin, and my music is who I am… The record was done from pure inspiration, which means I’ve connected somewhere. I was truly channeling some place away from myself. It was like something above connected to me and gave me these songs.” Also slated for release in 2022 by Nova is Aldo Nova 2.0 Reloaded, which features 9 classics from his catalog; this release includes karaoke-friendly versions with no lead vocal track and another with no lead guitar track.
