LA-Based Rapper, Nocturnal, Shares Details on Upcoming Project ‘She Needs Me’
Los Angeles-based artist, Nocturnal, is hard at work putting the finishing touches on a brand new project titled, She Needs Me. For the self-described “modern-day backpack” rapper, the project will act as his third full-length work, following previous releases, Holdin’ Onto Hope and Therapy Through an LP.
“She Needs Me is a double entendre, the first interpretation being “she,” hip-hop, needs me to save the game from dying. The second interpretation of “she” refers to my ex-girlfriend,” Nocturnal shared. “Throughout the project, I talk about the battles of making it in the industry and the sacrifices I make for “her,” the music,” he added.
Drawing inspiration from Jay-Z’s iconic “4:44,” as well as his experiences living in LA, Nocturnal’s She Needs Me will be the rapper’s “most vulnerable project yet,” with tracks like “Closure,” highlighting the rapper’s struggles dealing with the pain of heartbreak.
Commenting on what fans can expect from the new body of work, the rapper shared, “This project is my open book and a story about fighting my demons for the love of hip hop…I am being vulnerable for the fans who feel the same pain I feel but don’t have the guts or platform to express their true pain.”
She Needs Me is expected to be released this summer. While they wait, fans can check out Nocturnal’s previous releases.
