UnitedMasters Select Conversations Podcast Launches Season 2 with “Jeen-Yuhs” Co-Directors Coodie & Chike

UnitedMasters has released its first episode of season 2 of their SelectConversations podcast featuring host Rachie Jackson in conversation with award-winning directors and masterminds behind the Kanye West documentary series Jeen-Yuhs, Coodie & Chike. The conversation took place at UnitedMasters’ first-ever in-person SelectCon, a creators conference featuring industry leaders and talent chopping it up giving creators tools to level up their careers.

“Some of the film is shot on iPhone, some of it was on an $11 8mm camera we got off eBay that we prayed to God it was gonna develop. The whole last act of part three where Kanye on the plane was all shot on an iPhone. That becomes an excuse sometimes, the technology thing. Don’t worry about that part, work with what you have, you can’t let anything stop you,” Coodie stated.

“You just really gotta align yourself with something that you would do for nothing. What would you do for nothing?” Chike said in the conversation.

He continues, “There were times we were very selective about what we chose to do, so there were times that we weren’t earning money because we chose not to do certain projects because it didn’t match with our message, so we had to starve a little for that. But it was worth it, because now everybody trusts the stuff that we put out.”

During the conversation, Coodie & Chike provide insight into the making of the “Jeen-Yuhs” documentary, with Coodie’s highlight including meeting and capturing the essence of Kanye’s mother, Donda West, and Chike’s highlight being the moment where Kanye manifests winning a Grammy through practicing his awards speech. Rachie also chats with the directing duo about their future projects, divine alignment, and more.
