WWE SmackDown Worth the Hype (6/17/22)

Mere hours after stepping down as WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon struts to the rings to welcome the Minneapolis’ crowd to SmackDown.

Local wrestler Madcap Moss squared off Happy Corbin that would be dubbed as The Last Laugh match. Madcap Moss would end up not disappointing his home crowd by defeating Corbin. WWE commentator Pat McAfee had the entire Target Center laugh Corbin out of the arena.

The New Day took on Jinder Mahal and Shanky. This match started off one-sided and it appeared The New Day would end up taking the L. However, Woods of The New Day starts to play the trumpet and Shanky starts to dance. I must admit, he had some fun dance moves. The brilliance of Woods would help The New Day solidify a victory .

The qualifying match for Money in the Bank featured Raquel Rodriguez against Shayna Baszler. Raquel Rodriguez would make easy work out of Shayna Baszler by applying the Tejana Bomb for an easy pin.

The hype of the WWE Undisputed Universal  Championship match did not disappoint. Roman Reigns versus Riddle was full of blows, elbows and entertainment. Reigns would end up spearing Riddle mid-air to seal his fate. Roman Reigns would remain the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion.

Roman Reigns would taunt the Minnesota crowd by telling them to acknowledge them and all of sudden…the music of Brock Lesner amps up! Brock Lesner enters the ring. Reigns dismisses the Usos. Lesner removes his cowboy hat and extends his hand with a huge grin. Reigns meets his hand only to receive an F5 from Lesner. Usos receive the same punishment by entertaining the ring.
