BET Names Roc Nation’s Kalan.FrFr as ‘BET Amplified’ Artist for August 2022

We’ve been covering Kalan.FrFr for quite some time, and we’re excited that BET just named the Los Angeles native as its BET Amplified artist for August 2022. BET Amplified is BET Music’s stamp of approval on the next big thing in music. Roc Nation’s Kalan.FrFr is shaking up the music scene with his distinct brand of music. His project, TwoFr 2, featured the lead singles “Scoring” and “Never Lose You,” reaching over 100 million streams. Working with artists like Lil Durk, Stunna4Vegas, Mozzy, and others has allowed Kalan.FrFr, to rise as one of the city’s newest and most promising rappers. This month, the 27-year-old released his latest project entitled 222, which includes “Popstar” and “No Stoppin” featuring Blxst; he can now also add BET Amplified Artist to his list of accolades.

As a BET Amplified artist, Kalan.FrFr will receive BET Music’s support across multiple BET campaigns and platforms, including BET, BET Her, BET Jams, BET Soul, BET.com, BET Socials, and BET’s Official YouTube Page.

Previous BET Amplified artists include Babyface Ray, Blxst, Coi Leray, Doechii, Lehla Samia, Masego, Muni Long, Snoh Aalegra, Tems, Young Stunna, and many more!

About Kalan.FrFr

If Kalan.FrFr’s life was made into a movie; the title of the film would be redemption. A collegiate athlete turned burgeoning hip-hop star, Kalan’s musical triumph in his young career is the result of his exceptional skill to channel emotions into his work. Five years removed from being busted for robbery, the Los Angeles native —born Kalan Montgomery —has become a premier force within L.A.’s thriving music scene. “If this wasn’t my job, I would still make music because this is how I deal with life,” Kalan says. “This is just how I view the world.”

With a talent for emotionally-poignant lyrics and dazzling melodies that captivate listeners, the 27-year-old crooner is set to drop his most impressive body of work yet, a 13-track project featuring Blxst with production from Hit Boy, JetsonMade, Bankroll Got It, and Diego Ave.‘222’is some of the best writing of Kalan’s career, touching on heartache, atonement, hope, and selfishness with records that will make you dance or make you call your ex back.

The heart of the tape is “Wish Upon a Star,” an introspective recount of Kalan’s road to success over pulsing drums and somber piano keys. A standout track, it’s an abbreviated narration of Kalan’s life, focusing on how he’s achieving the success he only used to dream about.
