Casi Joy On Her Latest Single “Business Of Breaking Up,” Future Recording Plans, Being On “The Voice,” Influences & More

Earlier this month, country-pop singer-songwriter Casi Joy released a new single via Vere Music titled “Business Of Breaking Up.” Premiered via Country Now, which praised the song as “highly relatable” while spotlighting the singer’s performance, the track features the usual wit and wordplay from Joy that one would expect. The new single is Joy’s second since signing earlier in the summer with Vere Music, the Nashville-based label founded by Hootie & The Blowfish manager and industry veteran Rusty Harmon. Her Vere debut, “Everything’s Fine” — its music video is embedded below — was a funny and relatable ode to life’s frustrations. Great singles aside, 2022 has also seen the Kansas City native bringing her renowned live show to music festivals and headline shows all over the States.

Over the years, Casi Joy’s talents as a performer and songwriter have garnered praise from major outlets including Rolling Stone, CMT, E!, People, The Boot and Taste Of Country. Her 2021 releases — which include the fan-favorites “The Money,” “Namaste” and “Senses Fail” — led to Joy being named an “Artist To Watch” by both PopWrapped and the Cowboy Lifestyle Network. With over 350,000 followers (and counting) on social media and upwards of 40 million combined views online, Joy’s unique openness and creative voice have built a powerful audience of warm and eager connections around the world. Meanwhile, her touring credits include some of country’s biggest names of today, like Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce and Dustin Lynch. And all of that is without factoring in the millions of people who watched her perform each week as part of Team Shelton on The Voice.

On August 18, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with Casi Joy via Zoom, as embedded below. Among other topics, we talked about her time on The Voice, future recording plans, having a great team behind her, and her envisioned career goals. More on Joy can be found here, here and here.
