0Emile Hirsch On His New Film “The Immaculate Room,” The Smashing Pumpkins, Upcoming Projects, His Creative Process & More
In the new Screen Media Films production The Immaculate Room, Mike (played by Emile Hirsch) and Kate (played by Kate Bosworth) — a seemingly-perfect couple — join a psychological experiment to compete for $5 million dollars if they can last 50 days in a sleek, white room in complete isolation. No phones, no family, only the Voice of “the Immaculate Room” keeping them in check if they think of straying. But as the clock ticks down, the Room becomes more than it seems, putting them through cruel tests to break their resolve and resurfacing private demons which they may not survive.
The Immaculate Room — which hits theaters and on-demand outlets on August 19, 2022 — was nominated for “Best Feature” and “Best Actor” at the Mammoth Film Festival and for “Best Feature” at the London Independent Film Awards. Also starring Ashley Greene Khoury and M. Emmet Walsh, The Immaculate Room was directed and written by Mukunda Michael Dewil (Vehicle 19). Reportedly one of the first films to shoot under Los Angeles’ official COVID-19 protocols, it was filmed in late 2020.
On August 15, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with Emile Hirsch via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond The Immaculate Room, we spoke about Hirsch’s upcoming projects, his creative process as an actor, his musical endeavors, and which album he would take him with him to a real-life “immaculate room.” More on Hirsch and this new film can be found online by clicking here, here, here and here.
