“Industry” Stars David Jonsson & Alex Akpobame On Season 2 Of The HBO Series, Music & More

From creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, the eight-episode second season of HBO drama series Industry is set to premiere on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 9:00PM EST/PST. Also available to stream via HBO Max, Industry gives an insider’s view of the blackbox of high finance following a group of young bankers as they forge their identities within the pressure cooker environment and sex and drug fueled blitz of international bank Pierpoint & Co’s London office. In Season 2, the grads are no longer allowed to hide behind their graduate status as the market is ripping, and Pierpoint’s back to work or else mandate has the trading floor more charged up and paranoid than ever. However, new U.S. management will be gasoline on the flames within the Pierpont ranks, offering an injection of cross Atlantic energy that is aimed to light a fire under each and every one of the company’s employees.

Within the new season, Harper (played by Myha’la Herrold, Yasmin (played Marisa Abela) and Robert (played by Harry Lawtey) must drive new business and make new alliances both in and out of the office as Pierpoint and its junior bankers seek to take every advantage in a post-COVID-19 world. After almost all secured positions at Pierpoint & Co., season two of Industry picks up a year after the height of the pandemic. The series also stars returning cast members David Jonsson (Deep State) as Gus Sackey, Ken Leung (Old, HBO’s High Maintenance) as Eric Tao, and Conor MacNeill (Artemis Fowl) as Kenny Kilblane, in addition to new regulars Alex Alomar Akpobome (Twenties) as Danny Van Deventer, Indy Lewis (La Fortuna) as Venetia Berens, and Katrine de Candole (Dominion) as Celeste Pacquet.

On July 20, 2022, I had the pleasure of speaking with Industry stars David Jonsson and Alex Alomar Akpobome via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Industry can be found here, here and here.
