Let’s hop right into this latest single, “One Time” — Tell me about this particular track; how did it actually come to fruition?

“One Time” came into fruition after a writing session in the comfort of our home. We got the beat from RonDon, a producer from SteelSessions, whom we got introduced to by BudatheFuture. We decided to show the world THEGIRLLCODEE vibe on a track! Which is…You only have One Time, One Chance, One Fuck Up! …And we only gonna say it ONE TIME.

Of course “One Time” comes courtesy of your recently unleashed EP, ShaaBiggaa + Hiii Siddity — What prompted you all to title the project this?

BECAUSE WE WANT THE WORLD TO GET TO KNOW WHO THE GIRLLCODEE MEMBERS ARE! WE GOT THEM TO UNDERSTAND NOT TO FORGET THE 2 L’s AND 2 E’s in GIRLLCODEE, NOW WE NEED THEM TO NEVER FORGET THE 2 A’s in ShaaBiggaa or the 3 I’s in Hiii.Siddity!!

How then does ShaaBiggaa + Hiii Siddity [new materials] either differ and / or compare to previous entries?

NOTHING We do differs, because we still have BARS!!! #Clearlyyy …However, coming from the stoop to being recording artists…Making songs for everybody and Not just being boxed in…When we’re CAPABLE of doing EVERYTHING + more!

As songwriters, when you all sit down to pen your lyrics where do you all draw your inspiration from?

As Songwriters, our inspiration comes from life! What’s been seen, heard and done. “If I just ate a sandwich…And it was the best sandwich ever, I want to rap about the sandwich I’m gonna do just that!” — HiiiSiddity stated.

Reflecting, tell me your whole inception into music — When did you all first become interested in it? And, how did it all begin for The Girll Codee?

We were always interested in music; Since the WOMB! GIRLLCODEE officially came about in 2019, after our viral freestyle video to Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.”

Now you all are natives of Brooklyn, New York, correct? So growing up in ‘The Borough of Trees,’ who all did / do you all consider to be your strongest musical influences?

Yes, we’re from BIGBROOKLYN!

HIII.Siddity : The Notorious B.I.G. Is my biggest Inspiration! I love me some Biggie Smalls and Ol’ Dirty Bastard..

ShaaBiggaa: Everyone already know how I feel about Remy Ma! She’s been my inspiration forever!!! Other than Remy, I love J. Cole and Meek (Mill).

In having said that, how do you all classify your overall sound and / or style?

ShaaBiggaa: Our overall sound is RAW! Our style is Authentic. A different cloth they can’t find ever again.. —— Hold on, our style is like If “Lil Wayne , John Cena – ‘Cause They Can’t see Us – Maya Angelou & The Temptations” had a baby and Created THEGIRLLCODEE! —Hiii.Siddity added in.

Where does Y’all’s moniker originally derive from?

Our Supporters gave us the name GIRLLCODEE …Our famous line: “That’s the girllcodeeee, that’s how we treating n*ggas” is why Everyone on social media began calling us GIRLLCODEE and we call them our CO’DEEs 🤞🏽 because we are locked in! Forever!

What particular string of events actually led to y’all’s current inking to 300 Entertainment?

Our rap videos on Instagram were going viral and got into the hands of Hot97’s TT Torrez, our big sister. She’s actually the person who showed 300 our videos and linked us up.

What do you all want people to get from your music?

We want people to get strength and inspiration from our music! We want them to hear how much we never gave up, no matter what roads we went down and that they should do the same thing! We want them to hear EVERYTHING; the FUN, the turn up, the pain, sacrifices, because everything isn’t glitz and glam.

On a more serious note, are you all happy with the current state of Hip Hop? And, even more specifically, women in rap?

Sometimes it feels like Hip Hop isn’t ALIVE anymore with the shift change in music! But we are here to CONTINUE keeping Hip Hop alive! THEGIRLLCODEE rooting for any and every woman in rap, especially when there used to be only like 2 girl rappers to now it being hundreds.

Do you all have any other outside / additional aspirations, maybe even completely away from music?

Yes! Besides our goals of acting, modeling, fashion…We’re going to have Daycares, Psychotherapy office, Restaurants, Laundromats, Delis…Real Estate Business, Properties for Fixer Uppers! Everything GIRLLCODEE could get their hands on, WE’RE GONNA TOUCH IT!

To date, what has been y’all’s greatest career moment(s), at least thus far anyway?

Thus far we’d say our greatest career moment was performing at Summer Jam and the party for the release of our EP, ShaaBiggaa & HiiiSiddity.

What’s an average day like for you all?

An average day for GIRLLCODEE is in the studio, listening to beats, creating new vibes! It’s never a dull moment…Don’t forget the food because one thing about THEGIRLLCODEE , we LOVEEEE to eat!

What advice would you all have for someone wanting to follow in y’all’s footsteps?

DON’T STOP. KEEP GOING. FAILURE IS A PART OF SUCCESS. DON’T LET NO ONE DIM YOUR LIGHT; THEGIRLLCODEE WAY!!
