Newport Beach Home Remodeled by Howie Bartz Bought by ‘Shark Tank’ Star Robert Herjavec

After buying, listing, and selling multiple properties in California, Robert Herjavec, star of the television hit ‘Shark Tank’ star finally settled on a Newport Beach vacation home that he bought in 2018 for a cool $7.95 million.

Robert Herjavec’s Newport Beach buy came just a year after he purchased a home in the Hollywood Hills from Olympic snowboarder Shaun White for $6.7 million. But Herjavec seemed unwilling to commit to the 4,500 square-foot contemporary mansion in Outpost Estates, and he listed it for sale in June of 2019 for $7 million.

In 2019, Robert Herjavec purchased a contemporary Hidden Hills, CA farmhouse for $14.6 million, but listed the property for $17.25 million just 18 months later. The 14,400 square foot estate with a pool, yard, and views of the mountains may have boasted space, but Herjavec seems to be drawn to the water.

The Newport Beach home is a much more modest 3,550 square feet, with limited outdoor space and no pool, but has stunning harbor views and a private boat dock. The property, located in Balboa Peninsula, was gutted and completely remodeled in 2017 by Meditech founder Howie Bartz. who purchased the property in 2016 for $5.7 million.

No expense was spared in remodeling the two-story, contemporary-style home, whose sleek style welcomes the outside, in. The first floor includes a center-island kitchen, dining area, and living room, while all four bedrooms are found on the second floor. Light and bright, the house has white walls and French oak floors throughout.

Some of the highlights of the property are the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in the living room, the picture windows in the master bedroom, and the custom tile and freestanding tub in the master bathroom. Howie Bartz warmed up the exterior of the home by adding timber accents and maximized indoor-outdoor living by installing retractable glass walls in the living room. Despite the small yard space, Howie Bartz found room for turf between the wooden deck and the water.

Initially, the home was listed for $8.475 million. Tara Foster Shapiro of Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty represented Howie Bartz in the sale, and Andrew McDonald of the Agency represented Robert Herjavec.

Newport Beach is one of the most expensive cities for real estate in the country. Located in Orange County, Newport Beach has beautiful marina views, impeccable weather year-round, and fantastic dining and shopping options.

Robert Herjavec and his wife, former Dancing with the Stars pro Kym Johnson Herjavec, joined a wide variety of reality TV stars by moving to the area. Neighbors include Tarek El Moussa of HGTV’s ‘Flip or Flop,’ his wife Heather Rae Young of Bravo’s ‘Selling Sunset,” and Dr. Terry and Heather Dubrow of Bravo’s ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County.’

Robert Herjavec made his fortune by founding internet security software integrator BRAK Systems in 1990 and selling it to AT&T Canada a decade later for $30.2 million. He has appeared as a judge in all 10 seasons of ‘Shark Tank.’
