AKA returns with the release of his brand new single “Prada” featuring Khuli Chana.

South African rap artist AKA has finally returned by releasing his brand new single “Prada” featuring Khuli Chana.

The new song comes forth as AKA’s first official single this year and is the third lead title following the previous releases of “Paradise” and “Lemons (Lemonade)” from his forthcoming album “Mass Country”.

As we warm up to the days to the release of his new album, AKA continues to stay within his bag, giving us seasonal teasers marking up the days to the official drop of his new long-awaited project.

The Mzansi rapper had previously announced that “Mass Country” would be released this month, but later shifted the release date to 24th February 2023.

Constantly pushing to keep his title, AKA has lately been busy in the studio working with other artists, polishing and putting on the final touches to his new album. From a few posts, he has since been seen working alongside Nasty C, Stogie T, Flvme, Blxckie, Gemini Major, and Emtee among others. The rapper is said to also have included his girlfriend Nadia Nakai on the list of collaborations, as well as also A-Reece…

Tying up to the success of his previous hit singles, the Supa Mega decided to rope in his long-time friend, and colleague Motswako rapper Khuli Chana to bless the new “Prada” record.

The new single opens up on a so mellow and upbeat instrumental that works well in showing how the two emcees are able to perform and work well with each other on a joint beat, infusing their raps in between verses as they write love letters to their partners and pen out their differences on the track.

AKA starts the song writing his epistle to Nadia Nakai as he raps on celebrating their love as nothing can come between their long-lasting endearment, not even a fight on Valentine’s Day hence the line “…what’s next, Valentines never makes sense…”. The hook then symbolizes how much flowers mean nothing as they can die anytime, but not that “Prada” product as it would represent the unity and foreverness in the physical form of their relationship as well as the quality of their relationship hence the line “You got to buy me Prada, don’t buy me flowers…”.

The song is then joined up by a verse from Khuli Chana as he raps about how life starts at 40 as well as the first Rolex he received being from his wife and him saying goodbye to his old ways. Khuli Chana further expands his verse with how life has changed and the convenience that money can bring to a relationship from the products of leisure to the journey of the relationship as it is an “only death will tear us apart” type of love and this is beautiful as he has been married to Lamiez for the past 4 years and they’re still going strong.

The song was produced by talented music producers Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, Christer Mofenyi Koebedi, Tshupo Benjamin Khutsoane, and Fundile Dlamini.
