Fading Fast: Corey “C-Murder” Miller Appeals for Justice and Medical Care

In a statement from the team of Corey Miller/C-Murder, we find out that his health is being negatively impacted by his current circumstances while in incarceration. According to the statement below, Miller is suffering from inhumane treatment and conditions causing the deterioration of his physical and mental health.

Corey speaks from inside the walls

See the official statement from Corey’s manager Steven Johnson below:

On behalf of the Miller family in an ongoing campaign to have justice served, Lisa Jackson, Publicist, and Steven Johnson, Manager for Corey Miller/C-Murder, are requesting the release of information to the public about Corey and his current situation at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center.  We are asking Kim Kardashian, as the Prison-Reform legal team representing Mr. Miller, to help bring immediate public awareness to Corey’s entire situation: wrongful conviction from the state of Louisiana, the state of Louisiana’s suppression of evidence, inhumane treatment/conditions in prison and his health. It is imperative, now more than ever, that a quick strategic move is made as his health has significantly declined due to the prison system’s inhumane conditions and he is not getting proper medical treatment. Fortunately, and unfortunately, we have disturbing visual and written information about Mr. Miller’s situation.

Solitary confinement

Recently, Mr. Miller mysteriously passed out. He received no follow-up medical care in response to this event and because Mr. Miller asked for and did not receive an investigation of the circumstances of his passing out, he was placed in solitary confinement in retaliation for his health crisis.  Corey Miller continues to suffer from chronic dental issues that have led to significant weight loss and have been denied much-needed Thyroid medications because the state of Louisiana says they cannot obtain the necessary medications.

No Water…Nothing

Because conditions in the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center have not improved, Mr. Miller is engaging in a hunger strike that began on February 23rd of 2023, to bring awareness to his and all inmates’ neglect and abuse at the hands of the Louisiana penal system.

The neglect of inmates in the Louisianan penal system has been well documented by Mr. Miller and others. In August of 2021, Corey Miller went on a hunger strike to expose the unsanitary and medieval COVID-19 quarantine practices in the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. “Since the onset of COVID-19, they have continued placing the inmates that have tested positive for the virus in the dorms with inmates that were COVID-19 negative. This has not only spread the virus but has caused abnormally long quarantine times. The COVID-19-positive inmates are put on a two-week quarantine time initially but the prison adds new positive inmates to the dorm daily, which then extends the quarantine time two weeks each day that they add a new case,” Miller said in a 2021 statement provided by his publicist.

More recently, Gucci Mane publicly denounced the Louisiana penal system and specifically USP Pollock calling for an immediate investigation of the mistreatment of Hip Hop artist Pooh Shiesty. “We do not pay attention to how inmates are treated! Pooh has been sent 1500 miles from home and given empty food trays” says Gucci Mane. In a 2023 audio provided to media outlets, Corey Miller expresses his dismal situation by stating “Every day I face the difficulties of being in a cell, being in this dirt and filth, got a sink that don’t work, next to me got a toilet that don’t work. We don’t have no towels, no socks, no food, no toothpaste, no toothbrush, no soap…unsanitary. No water…I’m thirsty than a – right now, do you know how bad it is to want water and can’t get water? Do you know how bad that is? “

Mr.  Miller has been fighting for his health freedom against this wrongful conviction and simultaneously fighting for his constitutional rights that were stripped away and violated by the penal system of Louisiana. Jan. 17, 2023, marked 21 years of Mr. Miller being in the Louisiana Penal system.  We know an appeal was filed in late December of 2022 and the DA & Judge of Louisiana has 30 days from Feb. 7, 2023, to answer providing a recommendation.  This Judge also denied Mr. Miller’s last appeal after the witnesses in his conviction recanted their statements, admitting they were under duress by investigators.  Although Mr. Miller is staying strong, he is tired and additional pressure on the court system by making all findings public can urge them to do what is right. Mr. Miller has never wavered about his complete innocence. Nevertheless, it has fallen on the state’s deaf ears.

We are deeply sorry to address his situation in this manner, but the public must be made aware, and the media is needed to expose the full truth.  Fans, hip-hop/rap/r&b/ pop artists, activists, actors, executives, and influencers in the entertainment field will join us and help bring justice to Mr. Miller once the evidence is open to the public.  Sadly, we know this is the only way Louisianans will give a fair shake to this matter.  For 21 years, he has been fighting in the dark for justice.  Without public support, the state of Louisiana will allow him to continue to suffer and perish in the dark.

Please join us at www.PURPLE-UNION.ORG (Prisoners Union For Reform) and the Miller Family as we stand UNITED to bring Corey Miller home should you have in questions or would like to contact us we can be reached by the information below.

I remain….

Musically Yours,

Manager

Steven Johnson
