The opening day of Rolling Loud California 2023, the world’s premier Hip Hop festival, held at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA, was filled with high energy and special guests. Saweetie, a fellow Bay Area native, brought out legendary artist Too $hort to perform “Blow The Whistle” and remind the crowd of his famous 5-letter word. Tyga, a native of L.A, brought out hometown hero YG and announced that they have an album on the way. Ski Mask the Slump God also brought out Danny Towers, DJ Scheme, and Luh Tyler to perform “Florida Water,” and Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif joined them on stage to throw “Florida water bottles” into the crowd.

The rising star, Destroy Lonely, was a standout performer, setting the crowd on fire with his hit song “No Stylist.” Later, Playboi Carti, his Opium label head, took over the Levi’s Stage, performing old favorites like “Location” and previewing new music before closing out day one of the Rolling Loud California version of the global festival.
