What inspired you to create a story in your music video, “My Side”, that went along with your music?
The concept of “My Side” came from an experience in my past relationship/friendship; I dealt with a woman that was in a toxic relationship she wanted to leave. So, one day I was sitting in the studio making beats, then I made the beat for “My Side”. Without even noticing, I started to write on how I felt about that situation then recorded it the same day.
“My Side” is a song that has a lot of heart and soul to it. How do your real-life experiences affect the lyrics of your songs?
Basically, it’s every emotion I felt in my past relationships that I learned from. My experiences affect me in a way where I just got to express it in music.
How will your new EP, Loversonly 2, help you and your career grow as an artist?
It will help because this EP brings something that we haven’t had in a while especially from a young man like me. This EP brings love, hurt, soul, and accountability. This EP will give fans every emotion of me. Can’t wait till people hear this masterpiece.
What is your approach to storytelling when it comes to writing songs?
My approach is always to write what you really mean and say how you really feel without holding back.
How did the music scene and growing up in Miami bring you to where you are today?
Growing up in Miami wasn’t easy; the music scene is a real challenge. You’ve gotta be strong with faith and believe in yourself to get through.
What was it like when you were opening up for The Isley Brothers? How did that show you how far you have come in the music industry?
Opening up for the Isley Brothers was one of the best highlights of my career. It was very inspiring to share the same stage with one of the all-time greats in music history. That night was an eye-opener for me to work hard to be one of the greatest one days.
When making a song from start to finish, what is the most interesting part of the creative process?
The most interesting part of the process is having the first creative thoughts for a song before creating it. I tend to have a thing where I have a song created already in my mind before I actually make it, and when I finally make it on music software, it comes out exactly how I manifested it mentally. I feel like that’s pretty cool.
