SBR Touches Base With Recording Artist Chogo From Bhutan.

SBR connected with Bhutanese recording artist Chogo for this exclusive interview for The Hype Magazine readers. Chogo’s music has been streamed and viewed by millions around the world and with the release of his latest single & music video “Wide Awake”, Chogo’s music continues to be discovered daily. Music is a universal language and even though Chogo releases music in English, he still is very connected to his country and culture. His lyrics and melodies have assisted him in being able to connect and touch people who enjoy good music!

SBR: You are a native of Bhutan. For those who have never visited or heard of the small kingdom in Southern Asia, can you paint us a picture within a few sentences of what it’s like there?

CHOGO: Basically Bhutan is heaven on earth. It’s the happiest country one could ever imagine of. I’m proud to be a Bhutanese and I’m sure people who have visited Bhutan have a mutual feeling about it. It’s filled with botanic structures covering 71% of the geographical area under forest cover. There are so many beautiful places to visit in Bhutan. All in all, if you’re looking for a place to get away from everything just find peace, Bhutan is the place you’re looking for.

SBR: When writing your songs and choosing production, what is your process like?

CHOGO: My process of making music basically depends on the mood or vibe I want to portray to people. I usually go for beats first and then try to blend in what I’m going to portray to the people.

SBR: What is your favorite part of being an artist?

CHOGO: My favorite part of being an artist is the freedom that comes with it. Enjoying every moment knowing that you’re sharing ideas or emotions with people all around the world. It’s a lifestyle for me.

SBR: Can you share with us a fun story with a fan?

CHOGO: The funniest moment with a fan was the time when a bunch of kids wanted to take some pictures but they felt too awkward to ask me so they requested some elderly random person to ask me if I’d like to click a picture with them.

SBR: If there was one thing you could let others know about your music or yourself what would it be?

CHOGO: I want people to know that my music solely speaks for the people who feel like me. My music is not to impress anyone or anything. It’s wholeheartedly for my fans regardless of the haters have to say. People bring you down and I love it. It only proves you’re above them. I come from a humble middle-class family and I know my roots which makes my music speak more than what people have seen about me.
