R&B Artist vaz. Releases Energetic and Intimate New EP ‘take your time.’
Alternative R&B artist vaz. today released his emotionally-charged sophomore EP take your time. vaz. artfully fuses alternative, r&b, pop, hip-hop, and electronic to create his own soul-stroking sound that perfectly compliments his intimate lyrics.
In take your time., vaz. makes himself vulnerable to his listeners and opens up about his life challenges. In moody ballads like “for you.” and “t-shirt.” vaz. sings of desire and the frustration of a romance that is just out of reach. But vaz. doesn’t just sing about his challenges – he sings about moving beyond them. “what will be.” and “faded.,” vaz. showcases another side with high energy, grooving melodies, and messages of optimism and overcoming.
vaz. is originally from London, UK, and got his start when he caught the attention of BBC radio DJs in the UK with his EP Big Dreams Long Nights, released in 2013. The EP and subsequent releases found their way on regular rotation through the BBC radio networks. vaz. received online buzz in 2016 when he released a record titled Platform 6 featuring ex Roc Nation artist K Koke. It was released via LinkUpTV, a UK-based online music network, and amassed over 120k views on Youtube. Today, vaz. is based in Brampton, ON, Canada, in the Greater Toronto Area.
In early 2017, his singles “Night + Day” and “Matter To Me’ were also picked up by BBC Radio, as well as iHeartRadio Canada, Reprezent FM, Radar Radio, and a variety of publications including Boi1da.net and The Plug Society.
