Lupe Llerenas talked about how her undergrad is playing a major role in what she is doing now.

“You know it’s funny because when I was in college and I was taking all these courses. All of my classes were majority women. It because men didn’t want to take those classes, but there was stereotypical, because “Oh men can’t take courses like those only women can take courses like that. “ But along the years we start seeing everything booming, like the future is female justice and me too movements. All these advocates, that women are in the White House, that are taking on leader rolls that for many years we saw, it was a male dominant role. So seeing all of this and putting all this into perspective, I’m glad I took all these courses because I think there was this one class that I really enjoyed the most. It was about how women proceed in social media and the media in general and this was a course I took either in like 2013 or 2014. So in my head, I was like, I don’t think in that time, I think women were just like barley trying to make their way to the top. So when that course finished I started to see everything else that was happening. I was like yo I’m so glad I was able to take this class out what I know and what I knew at that time, forward to the way that I want to be seen. Not only in social media but in general.” Lupe would continue on how explaining her role with Karen Civil.

“Lupe Llerenas: Karen… Umm I actually became her intern in like 2015, like right before graduating. I became her intern, I was on board with her, I was on board with her site team. With the Karen Silva.Com team. It wasn’t until a few months into I started working with her directly. But I became an intern, and then I became an editor, and then she realized I was on the west coast. She was like “You know I’m on the west coast I’m in LA, I’m always needing someone to go and cover events or be there when I can’t”. So I quickly became her west coast correspond. So, umm I cover events for her, I do social media for her, and I contribute to the site.”
