Actor Jesse Williams brings BET exploding back to the front as strong Black Media

BET Awards 2016 showcased the essence of what journalistic integrity stands for during its awards show June 26 when “Humanitarian Award” winner, actor Jesse Williams made it through his scathing assessment of the climate in America, uninterrupted. Williams fearlessly launched verbal missiles at the government forces who run rampant in our cities flaunting their disregard the value of human life; Black Lives in particular. There were no closed mics, no misleading cutaways or rude interruptions during his acceptance speech.

“If you have no interest in equal rights for Black people then do not make suggestions to those who do. Sit down” declared Williams. It’s not unreasonable, to believe that the green eyed monster felt the impact of that one…

Williams’ speech laid bare for an international community of billions, some of the atrocities America shares in common with other oppressive nations. A climate of sanctioned police and government agency murders of black men, women and children was forefront on the mind of Williams, who quite literally, spoke for aware people here in the United States that are ready to “re-purpose” these para-military forces in our neighborhoods and communities.

Celebrities and the entertainment industry et., al., were not spared either. Hip-Hop in it’s purest form was on the stage with Williams last night when Williams metaphorically tore into the “branding” of Black America…yup he GOT IN THAT AZZ!!!
