Five Questions with Bee Skully

B-Skully (T: @itsbskully), also known as Brandon Skully was born and raised in Southern California, but he was greatly influenced by Texas Rappers and other down south rappers. At the age of 18 he became one of the leaders of the “jerking dance” movement in 2010 gaining major popularity on YouTube. He dropped his first song “Smooky” in 2011 gaining him more popularity. He also released his first mixtape “The Movement” in 2011 featuring other popular youtubers. In 2012 he signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment and dropped numerous popular songs such as “Twerk Work” and “Jigga”.

Shortly after he traveled out of the U.S. on tour in Germany, Australia, and Israel. B-Skully paused his rap career from 2014 to 2015 and released no music content. Then in early 2016 he made a strong comeback in the wake of his mixtape “Get It Get It”. Currently he resides in Las Vegas, NV and is working on many more projects.

Tell us about your current project and or single!

Currently I’m working on my upcoming mixtape “Get It Get It” which will feature some other well-known artists such as Lil Yachty, Soulja Boy, and more.

Do you feel your current project is the best introduction to you as an artist?

Yes. This mixtape will be an introduction to my new style of trap club banger music.

What is the music landscape in your neck of the woods?

Las Vegas has many California influenced artists. So most of the music out here is nothing like mine.

What’s on your horizon for 2017?

Work on an EP or debut album. Gotta keep dropping new songs to keep my fans satisfied and stay relevant, no sleeping.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

I would say the recording session of “Questions” I was drinking and threw up in the recording booth! Then I hopped up and started freestyling and that’s how “Questions” came to be haha! Recorded and finished the song in 1 day.
