Five Questions with The Faze:

Cali spitter The Faze is a new name to us but his brand of fire is very familiar…he’s got the mark of Hip Hop stamped in every line of his new joint The Black Slim Shady. The visual is straight forward and his open nod to Em is on point as he delivers from his core.

Since we know he’s not just new to us, The Hype Magazine got The Faze to introduce himself and weigh in on a few things:

As you see yourself, who is The Faze?

A Rebel from Moreno Valley, CA who lives life with no rules.

Tell us about your current project?

The current project I released is a mixtape version of the GZA‘s classic LP Liquid Swords. The project consists of new lyrics and concepts over the same beats from his album. Even though we titled it as a “cover album” it’s still very original, full of content, and new ideas. I like to compare this scenario to both of the Scarface movies, because you have the original with Paul Muni then you have the Al Pacino version which was a remake but was still creative and distinctively unique in its own right.

What’s on your bucket list to accomplish as an entertainer?

To make history, to be the greatest of all time, to cement my name as a legend not only in entertainment but outside of it as well. The grammy’s and all the accolades is cool, I want those too you know? But for the most part I want to make a huge impact on humanity. Btw I have a self-help book titled Life Has No Rules that should be coming out soon along with an album.

Will you be finishing out 2017 on the road or what’s on your horizon for 2018?

By 2018, I want to be the hottest prospect in the game, I have to be amongst bidding wars, I want to be the most sought-after artist since 50 Cent in his mixtape days. I want to be in the conversation of who is the best lyricist. Fuck the accolades and the numbers but who is actually competing at the highest level of skill? Those are the conversations I want to named in by 2018, so right now I’m working my ass off everyday so I can get to that point by the end of this year. Who knows, it may happen sooner, in this era everyone is one viral video away from their whole life changing.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

This is the industry, damn near everyday you ask WTF?! Where they do that at?! lol
